Easily the best biography of Koxinga in the English language
I have already sent my feedback to the author. A full review is not a bad idea, maybe I should do it.
It is a very good reconstruction of Koxinga's military career. And the goings-on inside Ft Zeelandia during the siege are apparently based on original Dutch sources - in addition to Coyet's own somewhat self-serving account. I do feel that some sources from Qing scholars might be too biased that must be cited with caution.
I read the book from cover to cover very quickly, totally absorbed. You'll like it too, I am sure.
You gonna put up a book review? I'm looking forward to reading it as the topic is fascinating and the author is a good one.
