  1. The new banner looks good, but how about the popularity of the exhibition?
The attached video is terrible, to be honest.

  2. As my cousin has observed: every family in Danshui has a story to tell when it comes to the Sino-French war. Indeed, our grandparents were part of it. And the video, granted not professionally done, is evidence of the enthusiastic participation of the locals at re-enacting the battle of Hobe.

The exhibition thus far has attracted the attention of civic groups, arts students, and tourists. Among the latter, interestingly a Brit and an African.

This special exhibition will become a permanent part of the museum. Come and visit when you are in town.

  4. A friend told me she had overheard another in the audience exclaiming proudly that "My aunt has a speaking part in it!!" The excitement was there. Strictly speaking, it was not a re-enactment but more a dramatization. The enthusiastic participation is nonetheless identical.

I don't know about you, but I was part of the "map-less" generation. I knew how to get to many places in Greater Taipei by bus, for example, but had no idea where they were in relation to each other. And any cities and towns south of Taipei were a total mystery. It is quite a shock to see people now navigate with the GPS, so naturally too.
